Where you actually redeem IDFC FIRST points
There are two ways to redeem. The first is Pay with Rewards at the point of sale, online or at a supported merchant terminal: select the option during checkout, confirm with an OTP, and your points apply instantly to that transaction. The second is the FIRST Rewards Gallery inside the mobile banking app: open the Credit Cards section, select your card, tap Rewards, and browse gift vouchers, travel and merchandise options.
What you can redeem for, and what it costs
Through the Rewards Gallery, you can put up to 100% of a gift voucher's value toward reward points across shopping, dining and entertainment brands. Each redemption, whether at checkout or through the app, carries a ₹99 + GST fee, and points are valued at a flat 1 Reward Point = ₹0.25 across redemption types.
The expiry change that took effect in 2026
IDFC FIRST previously marketed lifetime-valid, never-expiring reward points as one of its key differentiators. That changed starting with the July 2026 statement cycle: points earned from that cycle onward now expire 24 months after being credited. Your existing balance as of July 2026 stays valid until July 2028, but anything you earn after that has a clock running on it. If you've been holding points long-term on the assumption they'd never expire, it's worth checking your actual balance and earn dates now rather than assuming the old policy still applies.
Which redemption path is more convenient
Pay with Rewards is the faster option if you already know what you're buying and want the points applied immediately, without browsing a separate catalogue. The Rewards Gallery makes more sense if you're looking for a specific voucher or want to see the full range of options before deciding, since checkout redemption only applies points to whatever you're already purchasing.
