How to Redeem SBI Credit Card Reward Points

Anant Mohan Sinha · 2026-08-25

Where you actually redeem SBI Card points

You can redeem through the SBI Card website (log in, go to Rewards, then Redeeming Reward Points) or the SBI Card mobile app under the rewards section. Both show the same Rewards Catalogue, so the choice comes down to whichever interface you find easier to browse.

The four redemption options, and what they're actually worth

Statement credit is the simplest option: it directly reduces your bill, redeemable only in multiples of 4,000 points. E-vouchers from partner brands arrive within about 5 days and often stretch your points further than statement credit, since brand vouchers are frequently priced at a better points-to-rupee ratio. Gift products, physical items from the catalogue, take about 15 days to arrive and tend to offer the weakest value per point. Cash redemption exists but requires writing in or calling SBI Card's helpline directly rather than a self-serve online option.

The cap that changed in 2026

As of 1 April 2026, statement-credit redemption is capped at 60,000 points per card per calendar month, with the same 4,000-point multiple rule still in force. This cap applies to nearly every SBI card, with Air India SBI Signature, PhonePe SBI Card PURPLE and PhonePe SBI Card SELECT BLACK specifically exempted. If you've been sitting on a large points balance planning one big statement-credit redemption, this cap means you'll need to spread it across multiple billing cycles instead.

Which option is actually worth choosing

If you don't have a specific brand voucher or travel redemption in mind, statement credit is the safest default since its value is fixed and predictable. But before defaulting to it, check the e-voucher catalogue for a brand you'd genuinely spend at anyway, travel or lifestyle vouchers often redeem at a meaningfully better rate than the flat statement-credit conversion.

A quick checklist before you redeem

  • Check your balance and expiry date in the app first, so you're not letting points lapse while deciding.
  • Compare the voucher catalogue against statement credit for the same point count before committing.
  • Remember the 60,000-point monthly cap if you're planning a large statement-credit redemption, and split it across cycles if needed.
